What You Can Expect with Eye Surgery

In general, there is no discomfort during or after the surgical procedures we perform. The procedures are performed in our office surgical suite under local anesthetic. During the operation, you may rest or even ask questions and converse during the procedure. The atmosphere is relaxed and our staff knows how to make you feel comfortable and confident throughout your time with us. Mild sedation is available for patients wishing to have it.

Because Dr. Ragen is so experienced, blepharoplasty takes only about ten minutes per eyelid. Throughout the surgery, you will feel relaxed and experience no pain. When the operation is completed, you are fully awake and can literally stand up and walk out of the operating room. In fact, many patients drive themselves to and from the surgery.
